Our Focus

ADAC offers children, youth, and families healthy alternatives to substance use, violence, and other risky behaviors, positive affirmations and outlets to build protective factors, and educational enrichment to increase school retention and high school graduation rates. Additionally, ADAC promotes economic advancement through employment opportunities for youth and young adults, volunteer opportunities, and partnerships with local workforce development centers. Finally, to further our mission to reach the whole family, ADAC supports parents with parenting skills development and advocacy, thereby empowering parents and guardians to become better nurturers for developing youth.

Philly Youth Making Positive Choices

ADAC's free program in school- and community-based prevention is part of our Philly Youth Making Positive Choices initiative, aimed at equipping Philadelphia youth with the tools to make positive, healthy choices

through social-emotional skills development, violence and substance misuse prevention, awareness of the harmful effects of risky behaviors, and practicing healthy alternatives.

Safe Haven OST Program

ADAC provides free, year-round opportunities for youth to engage in enriching out-of-school-time (OST) programming that consists of educational, prevention-focused, and recreational activities for positive youth development. OST programming includes After School and Summer Camp programs based in Philadelphia schools.

Philly Families Thrive

Through Philly Families Thrive, ADAC offers free support services to families with children ages 0-18 years living in Philadelphia who are in need of support to improve the overall health and well-being of their families. Services include the Positive Parenting Choices Program and Family Advocacy.

Take Action

ADAC is always looking for volunteers to assist in our programs. If you have a few free hours that you can dedicate to others, enjoy working with youth, or possess a skill that can be shared, we would be happy to have you join us!
