Philadelphia United for Change Coalition
Philadelphia United for Change (formerly West & Southwest Philadelphia United for Positive Changes Coalition) focuses on the West and Southwest areas of Philadelphia, specifically zip codes 19104, 19139, 19142, and 19143. As a prevention-focused organization, ADAC has established a coalition whose purpose is to address and combat substance misuse and violence among youth and their families.
Our Mission
The mission of Philadelphia United for Change (PUC) is to bring together community stakeholders, parents/caregivers, and youth and young adults as like-minded citizens in order to reduce substance misuse and violence in the Philadelphia community by addressing the causes of these and other youth problem behaviors before they arise.
Our Model
PUC follows the Communities that Care (CTC) Model, a proven, prevention science-based model that reduces youth problem behaviors, thereby promoting the healthy development of youth and positive youth outcomes. To learn more about CTC, click here.
PUC is being developed with support from Penn State's Evidence-based Prevention and Intervention Support (EPIS).
Seeking Collaborators and Changemakers
Community Stakeholders
We are seeking leaders from religious or fraternal organizations, healthcare professions, law enforcement, and other community pillars who are invested in the wellbeing of residents. Bring your expertise and resource connections to the group to empower and improve outcomes for families.
Parents & Caregivers
PUC is calling for parents/caregivers who live, work, or worship in West and Southwest Philadelphia and want to stand against substance misuse, reduce violence and negative behaviors, promote mental health, and be a resource to other parents in their community.
Youth & Young Adults
We are looking for youth (ages 12+) and young adults who are leaders and changemakers. Young leaders in West and Southwest Philadelphia who want to fight substance misuse, reduce violence, and improve mental health in their community are critical to our mission.
